Dear friends of “GoAhead”,
the only word I can think of to describe your programs and engagement for Africa is "amazing".
From my 12 years of working here I have learned how much energy it takes to not just give alms but to change people's lives permanently. To venture into such a different and strange continent, thought of as lost by many. To move people to help other thousands of miles away, not once but over and over again. All these things are amazing.
But the most fascinating this is that all of you who founded and lead "GoAhead" are young. This gives a lot of hope that, in a world of commercial greed, merciless economics and strife for a good and safe life, caring about others is not missing out and that more equality can be achieved in the long run.
The South African principle of Ubuntu - becoming human can only be achieved through other humans - is now alive in Germany and Europe as well.
Besides wishing courage, endurance and support for your project I hope that you experience how your engagement gives hope to people in Africa and enriches your own lives, which in turn provides motivation for your actions.
In whatever way HOPE Cape Town can support you, please just let me know.
