Early Education Program
Preschools are particularly important in areas that are deeply affected by AIDS. GoAhead! supports selected preschools in the rural areas of South Africa. In doing so, it enables children to go to school. The children get prepared to school and grow in a safe environment. Help to finance the school attendance for a child with only 6€ a month!
Education is key to the future of Africa. In this field, not only local organisations but also international NGOs like the UN are of particular importance. Between the ages of three and seven, the groundwork for a child's development is laid - not only academically, but also socially and physically. Tragically, it's precisely this early childhood education that is sorely neglected at the moment.
Many families in South Africa are simply too busy with mere survival to occupy themselves with their children's education. Young children are often neglected, or never given the opportunity to attend school - their futures are abandoned. These children are especially at risk for criminality and violence. With our pre-school program we try to let children enjoy at least a part of their childhood without fear, and give them access to the basics of academic education. In co-operation with our partners Heartbeat, Pastoral and 1000 Hills Community Helpers we support pre-schools under pressure in the provinces of KwaZulu Natal and Gauteng.

How does GoAhead! help?
Many families cannot afford to send their children to one of the pre-schools we support. Hence, their expenses for stationery, books, food or further schooling of their teachers are not covered in the long run. This is where GoAhead! tries to hel; we cover the cost of:
- school dinners
- educational materials and toys
- further education of teachers
- other running costs.
For many parents, a warm lunch is the only reason to send their kids to school in the first place. Hence school dinners are not merely a meal but essential for the pre-school model itself.
How can I help?
With only 6€ per month you can fund all the aforementioned commodities for a child! Of course, you can support more than one child at a time.
This program does not constitute a child sponsorship; you will not receive a child's profile or be the official sponsor of a certain child.
You will, however, receive two update documents a year in which the pre-schools discuss their development, problems and other news. Through these updates you get a direct impression of life at the pre-school and the impact the program is making.
